About Me

Well, I have finally got round to getting myself a blog.

Academic Work

I am a Lecturer in Mathematics at Trinity College Dublin.

I make available on the web lecture notes for many of my lecture courses.

I have created a website devoted to the History of Mathematics. This includes much material relating to celebrated Trinity alumni, such as the mathematician Sir William Rowan Hamilton and the philosopher George Berkeley.

Many years ago I made available on the Web some introductory notes on Getting Started with LaTeX.

Music

I play violin, viola and piano.

I play violin with the Hibernian Orchestra.

I also enjoy playing chamber music, and have participated in many chamber music weekends at Termonfechin organized by the Dublin Chamber Music Group.
